I just received a PM from princess asking how RR has access to her e-mail because it's private information. She claims it's not fair that others can stay anonymous here, but not her and that someone has breached the privacy notice for 2p2.

Unless I hear differently, this is my intended reply.

RR is a moderator for 2p2 and mods have access to user profiles, which includes your e-mail. If you read the thread again I have since deleted all references to this information.

The privacy notice was not breached as your e-mail address was never revealed.

She's fishing to see if she can get RR in trouble obviously.
.
If I have to mess with issues in this thread again today, I'll be tempted to hit the delete key.

[/ QUOTE ]

*TT* and RR should just PM an apology to her.

I generally don't send PM to people that look like they may be a little unstable.

I don't think that's necessary.

For the record, I added the following to my PM reply.

Personally, I find the best policy is to never assume I'm completely anonymous on the internet.

It's just common sense.

I think this is pretty bad.

You may not even mean to say this but the way it's written makes it seem like you are saying that she shouldn't assume that mods won't look at information that is private and make it public.

I thought I made it clear by using "personally" that it's my personal opinion.

Let's not make a mountain out of a molehill here. I do happen agree with TT that she didn't go to a lot of trouble to hide her identity. That's what I'm referring to.

if what happened here (i haven't read this thread) is that a mod or two read someone's private info and then shared the results with the forum, well that's a pretty douche move and that mod or mods should be ashamed of themselves. there's a pretty clear difference between announcing who a poster is if it's someone's wife or whatever and announcing if someone is nos1nos or whatever. i don't think a public or private apology would be out of line.

if that's not what happened here, carry on.
