I've played w/ Kem bridge, Kem poker, and Copag poker. Do not get smaller bridge cards. They aren't bad, but everyone would agree, you want the size of the card to be the same as what you use in every single casino, right? This is pretty much a no-brainer.

As for the Kem/Copag debate. In general, the Kems are slightly thicker. I have sets of both. I'm happy w/ both. Both can warp if you leave them in a metal chip case in your car in sunny Cali during the month of July. Both are easy to clean. One friend that had Copags, said that the ink smudged on them. I have NEVER witnessed that with my own Copags.

The Kems are a little nicer, but more expensive. The Kems I bought off eBay seller. The Copags I got for free from Full Tilt player points.

Do NOT get the jumbo index. At a home game, we played w/ Bicycle jumbo index cards. The joke was, god damn, I lifted the corners to look at my cards and they punched me in the eye! LOFL! laffing out [censored] loud.

I'm not sure every card room uses poker sized. And so what if they do? Bridge are better IMO.

Buy all all 3 brands and see which ones you like the best. Jeez! It's not like you're buying a plasma television. Then use the ones you like.

KEM and Copag are both nice cards. Bridge size, which is what most card rooms use.

Personally, I don't like 4 color. That's because I grew up with red and black cards and the extra 2 colors kind of ruin the information matrix, for me at least.. As for JUMBO, go for that only if most players are over 50...

I skimmed this thread and have a couple comments:

Jumbo index isn't a problem at all for me when I'm squeezing out hole cards. Yes, you have to pull them up a bit higher, but it should in no way put you at risk of your cards being revealed by players next to you unless you're very careless.

If you ever play stud games and you have a large table, jumbo-index cards will be much easier to read across the table for the players on the ends.

I prefer the feel of poker cards over bridge cards when dealing out the cards. However, the bridge cards' smaller surface area makes it easier to put the deck back together after shuffling, especially when the cards start getting a bit dirty.

Cards I'm currently using are bridge-sized jumbo-index plastic cards from the Pokerstars FPP store. The brand on the ace of spades says Naipes Fournier with Heraclio(?) written in smaller letters above the Fournier name. Made in Spain.

I'm really happy with the feel of them, but they have quality control issues. There are marks on some of the cards in a couple of the decks. I ordered like 6 sets of 2 so it's okay.

I have a couple set-ups of both Copag and Modiano. The Modiano are a little thicker than Copag and thus somewhat easier for people not used to plastic cards to shuffle.

The colors of the Modiano 4-color seem to be easier on the eyes (less faded) than the Copag. When I used the Modiano, there were less compliants than with the Copag 4-color. Here is a pic of both 4-color pic
