Default 2 Questions on Baseball Tickets

1. Has anyone ever had tickets to a game and not used them? I bought a 15 game pack for the Mets and i couldnt make tonights game, and i couldnt find someone to give them to, so they were wasted. Its the first time its ever happened to me and it feels very wasteful. Anyone else have this happen?

2. Does anyone here think its unethical to move down during sporting events? Someone i know today told me they thought it was stealing to sit in a seat different then the one you purchased. I disagreed citing the Shea seat attendants who say you can move down after the 5th inning. Thoughts?

My MO is to get in as cheap as I can and sit in the best possible seats. I always wait until top 3 to sneak down to let late arrivals show up. Not letting people sit in an unoccupied seat is retarded. Most of the best seats are bought by corporations anyway nowadays.

1.Every few months somebody in my office or I am offered free tickets last minute from a vendor. I almost always take them and sometimes end up with extras (get 4 tickets can only find 1 friend at the last minute). I'm sure it would feel a lot more wasteful if my company or I actually paid for the tickets.

2.I think moving down as far as you can is a commonly accepted practice. A few years ago, when the Bulls were horrible and drawing 10,000 a night two friends and I bought the cheapest tickets in the stadium. We started out in great seats and were eventually kicked out of about 5 sections by Nazi ushers. We finally gave up and took our actual seats a few rows from the roof, not a pleasant second half.

Can you get your tickets emailed? If so, just craigslist.com and sell them or give 'em away. I love when people can't make it to games, I get their STH seats for a huge discount

I get a lot of free tickets from various sources and end up wasting one or two. There is a guy who has 5 season tickets that gives them to me 3-4 times a year... who can find 4 other people to go to a game w/ short notice on a Monday night? I can usually find 1-2, then give the others (as they're real nice seats) to someone in line to buy cheap seat tickets.

However, not using any of the tickets is always a disappointment. Nothing you can do though.

Moving down is not only completely fine but totally standard... every time I go to Shea I sit in my seats through the first inning or two, then move down as far as I can go. If someone is sitting there they will just tell you, you apologize and move someplace else. Equating this to stealing is just absurdly nitty.

I usually walk up and buy ticketz to 10-20 Mets games a summer.

I have never once sat in the seat printed on the ticket (other than playoffs when it was sold out)

Sucks that you missed todays game.
