Default Very low limit, is it beatable?

I live in Fla. so there are no real casinos. I have to play at a dog track that has 1-2 poker and the bet caps a 8.00 dollars (3 raises). 1-2 blinds and 2.00 after the flop. Is there any way at all to make a game like this a little profitable? I 75% of the time am up at least 50 bucks but the longer you stay of coarse the money goes away.Is this a dead horse? No chance for a profit? House take is bad.

as you say, if the ratio of rake:stakes reaches a certain level, its pretty hard to come out ahead over time (even with atrocious opponents!).
the game you describe is probably not the best place for you if your prerogative is to win lots of monies, but would probably be a fun place to kill an afternoon or something. If you are good, you should still be able to break even.

finevol, if you'd like more (/better ) responses, you may want to re-post this in the "B&M" forum.

They rake those pots up to $5 in Florida. That, and standard dealer tip on a winning hand is $1. The game absolutely is not beatable over the long haul.
