Default Why is the bottom button unbuttoned?

In suits, why is the bottom button left unbuttoned?
Anyone have insight on this?

So when you sit down your jacket doesn't look awkward....

Yeah, you do it when you sit down so it doesn't look awkward.

He means unbutton all the buttons when you sit down. The third one should always be unbuttoned.

I always undo the 3rd button so I can put my hands in my trouser pockets comfortably...

I also leave the bottom button of a button down shirt unbuttoned when wearing it untucked.
