Colin Moshman, in his book, <u>Sin 'n Go Strategy</u> , would disagree that one should limit himself to "the basics" that you give in your post.

Using a chart like those I linked to in my post (his has both ratio odds and percentages), he discusses how to think about pot odds, then he says, on page 254:

"We now suppose all factors lead to an odds-based call/fold decision. Then you should know these odds cold ."

(emphasis mine)
