I realize posting a serious response in a thread that is one giant level is dangerous but im willing to Indiana Jones it. People who always talk about Christmas losing it meaning or something of that nature dont actually understand what Christmas is. It has been all about getting people to buy things from the beginning.

The reason Christmas is on the 25th of Dec has nothing to do with the birth of jesus he was born sometime in the spring the bible corrobarates that when it talks about the shepards bringing back the sheep or something. The REAL reason for christmas was to make it easier to convert pagans. Dec 25th falls around the winter solstice which was a major holiday for most pagans. In order to make it an easier transition for them to christianity, so they would be more likely to convert, christmas was put on the 25th. This way thousands of years of local traditions of celebrating a holiday wouldnt have to be thrown away thus causing a culture clash.

So basically it Christmas used to be about selling christianity to people and now its about selling crappy made in china lead toys. So just enjoy your family have some fun and thats what the holidays are about

Its crazy that Jesus was born right on Christmas. Weird. Kinda makes you wonder about the authenticity of the bible.
