Freedom is about authority?

[/ QUOTE ]

heh.

There are multiple quotes by both Giuliani and Hillary that should give any freedom-minded person the shivers - or cold sweats, actually.

Robertson had to choose who he hated more, Gays or Arabs and he chose Arabs.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why can't he hate them equally?

[/ QUOTE ]
In these trying times even hate must be rationed. Pat Robertson is just doing the noble thing and rationing his hate so that he can save it up for later.

Why do Christians support Israel? Israel = jewish, what am I missing?

[/ QUOTE ]

Um, Christianity came from Judaism. What's not to understand?

Because if you say anything remotely anti-Israel, you are a Nazi.

From what I understand, this disturbing worldview is not shared by the majority of evangelicals.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is correct. As a fairly educated evangelical, I have never understood any of this nonsense.

If the prophecies are valid, THEY WILL HAPPEN REGARDLESS, OBVIOUSLY. Idiots. It is just so comical to me that these people supposedly acknowledge God to be the Creator of the known universe, but in practice it's like they think He's basically useless. "If Hillary gets elected, the prophecies won't come true! God could not have been expecting this! OH NOEZ!"

There is a famous quote from a Rep. in the state House in Tennessee about why he voted against putting up the Ten Commandments on public property: "If God wanted the Ten Commandments in the courthouse, He wouldn't need the Tennessee General Assembly's help."

[/ QUOTE ]

Too bad "educated" evangelicals provide these lunatics a shield to continue preaching their nonsense.

Actually it is much more sinister than that. Robertson and people of his ilk, believe that Jesus cannot come back until the Jews rebuild there temple. SO all this lovey dovey of Israel is actually there attempt to hasten the coming of Armageddon, it is truely demented.

Is it that or will it make them richer? I always thought money came first.

Robertson is a smart man, he can't possibly really believe the [censored] he shovels about armageddon, right?

Another reason to believe there's no way Giuliani can be elected, and to doubt he can even get the nomination.

I think alot of people take comfort or hope that these guys are scheisters. However, as Sam Harris has pointed out numerous times now, what is it going to take for us to believe that these nutjobs actually believe what they say.

The truth of the matter is that it would be a good thing if these guys were just crooks. That is pretty revealing if you think about it.
