Default 5-10 poker, what are my expectations?

Since I live in Fla. there are no great poker games. The best games are on a gambling boat that goes out of Port Canavral Fla.. I like the 5-10 game in which you play for about 5 hours a cruise. What can a decent player expect to do with a game of 5-10 as far as making money? Can a good player beat a 5-10 at a consistent clip or is it to much of a loose game and the swings are to much. thoughts?

you def sound new finevol, its good to see you posting alot on this forum now

as far as 5/10 goes. Most players on here you will see track stats as far as BB/100 that they make, thats big blinds they make on average per 100 hands. A real good player can achieve 3BB/100 but 2BB/100 is very good as well. So for 5/10 that would mean a good player could expect to make $20/100 hands. Over 5 hours on a cruise ship I would say at max you would get in 200 hands and most likely not so if you're good you could make $40 on average but probably less. Easy to beat, but not enough to make tons of money, you are better off online or playing higher in person.

[/ QUOTE ]Thanks bro I appreciate it. It seems I win 150 to 200 and go back lose 150 go again and break even I have only played one 10-20 game and I broke even. I like 10-20 but wont sit unless money is not a prob.

Its tough to measure wins in bb/100 hands when youre playing live. Try using an hourly rate

yea you can use an hourly rate also, i would say keep a log of your results and review them once you have a nice sample. That is why pokertracker is so great for online since you dont need to do anything with it.

i think www.pokertracker.com but all online players use pokertracker and pokerace HUD, pokertracker tracks all results u could ask for and HUD puts stats of players on the table, very very helpful, a must for online players.
