The real question is who can do the ICM without Pokerstove??

[/ QUOTE ]
Well, it takes pokerstove about 2 days to solve the equitys if you give it 3 ranges vs each other. Rainman ftw!

I'd say you should be able to do it by hand before you purchase SNGPT.

i disagree completely.

if you are dumb and do not understand what the programs do thats fine.

but if you have general poker knowledge and understand the implications of nearing the payouts, doing icm is a complete waste of time. this is a fact.

You think doing icm by hand, even just once, to understand what the program is doing - is a waste of time?

I have never done them by hand, but I think I could if given TI-83, ICM calculator, and Stove.

PokerStove doesn't do any prize-pool equity modeling. I know I'm the world's biggest nit about this but it bothers me that you got the "the" in front of "ICM" but then misused the term.

Maybe the problem is that there is no name for the type of calculation where ICM prize pool equity is convoluted with hand ranges and pot equities against those ranges to value push/fold decisions. I usually call them "SNGPT-type calculations."

EDIT: added the part in italics.
