Hey guys, I played this hand today against the biggest fish at the table. I knew he had the straight on the river but I hit my magic jack and had to call. Is there any way to get away from this?

AE: $500,000
SF: $500,000

Pre-Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (UTG)

What is Esfandiari doing there? In a previous show he folded JTs when there was a raise to 20k. In this episode he limpfolds T9s when there is a raise to 7k and two calls when the action returns to him. Awful tight play, is he trying to play tighter than Bob Stupak?

This was a great episode a lot of interesting table talk
Has any one noticed the faces of the waitresses in the background when they were playing for big pots?

getting to the doyle hand again. I actually think it is really important that doyle had the nut redraw there because guy's line is so ridiculously strong that if had watched this hand without knowing the whole cards i would be like: guy has a set of jacks.
But obviously guy makes some really funky moves at the same time so it's ok to get it in here but really important to have a nut redraw just in case guy actually has a set (which is basically what he is saying).

That makes sense...I see what you are saying. That's another reason I am watching those stakes instead of playing those stakes!

Thanks.

The lesson here is for any level. When you have a monster and your opponent is drawing dead on the turn. Either he has a big enough hand or draw to put more money in or he doesn't. If he doesn't, it matters little whether you bet the turn or river, he's folding. If he does, you want to give him 2 chances to put more money in. If he's on a draw and you wait until the river and his draw misses, you've left money on the table. If he has a vulnerable made hand and you wait until the river and a scare card hits, you've left money on the table.

When you have your opponent drawing dead or close to it on the turn and he bets into you, you should try to get more money in right then. It's how much money (as Dynasty said) that's the hard decision.

People from the foundation are crying blood after they lost a potential 400k in one hand. Still, a gutsy move buy Guy and it probably would have worked if Doyle had just an ace with no draw.
