Hilarious Pokerroom promotion
Pokerroom sent out some emails about this "Popularity Contest" promotion, it's a contest to see who can refer the most people to the site and it says this: "The winner of the PokerRoom.com popularity contest will receive a whopping package to the WPT Legends of Poker in Los Angeles.". There was weirdly no fine print detailing the prize, so I wrote them to ask exactly what the package entailed, and get this: The "whopping package" does not actually include entry into the event lol. They said this (I added some bold stuff):
"The package includes a ticket to watch the WPT Legends tournament. We know it can be interpreted as a ticket to partake in the legends(because we intend people to interpret is as such) , and do apologize if the information was confusing (although we are happy it is confusing, since that was our main goal)." I can't imagine a lamer promo. So misleading, so lame. Not very "whopping". |

Re: Hilarious Pokerroom promotion
Ummm, I guess that are offering airfare to Los Angeles? Maybe? And a ticket to WATCH a WPT final table?
God it really is so scummy. They worded the contest site SO carefully to make it sound like they're offering an entry into the tourney. And they didn't include the standard thing that EVERY online contest has which outlines eligibility and prize details and whatever. They're actually really asking to be sued by one of those people who goes around the internet, finds places running contests and sweepstakes that aren't being run properly and sues them, I remember hearing about those guys a while ago. |
