Size of a scalp needed to be profitable?

I am a part-time bonus whore with an 11-12K bankroll, and I am looking to break into sportsbook bonuses and scalps as a side opportunity. I found a scalp for an upcoming game at +158 and -155 for the respective sides.

Assuming I can devote 5-6K to scalping ventures, what kind of differential do I need to find in my scalps to make this worth doing?

What kind of proportions would I need to bet on the line mentioned above to lock in max profit?

Well,

If you beat 2336.5 at +158 and win you take home 6028.17.
If you beat 3663.5 at -155 and win you take home 6027.05.

There is an number to make it exactly equal, but I don't have the spreadsheet with me at the moment. Basicly you can make around $27.5 by betting $6000.

(158-155)/(155+158) X 3000 =28.75 So something is wrong with the math above, but it is somewhat close i think.

Make it easy on yourself and just free roll on the dog. Bet 4k both ways (need 10,200 to do it) and you will break even if fave wins but win $120 when dog wins.

I would rather spending a few minutes and get it closer to even payout on each side. I dislike variance for no reason.

With 5-6K, you will be making most of your money from bonuses initially. The size of the scalp isn't terribly important as long as it isn't worse than -2c or so (you don't want it to eat too much of your bonus money).

Regarding how much to bet on each game, you don't want to have to ask here each time, as by the time someone answers the scalp will be gone. You definitely need an Arb Calculator. Many exist online, or you may make your own spreadsheet. If you have trouble locating one, let me know.

For whatever reason, I never found that one to be particularly easy to use. How can I indicate the line on which I want to max out my bet?
