Did you not read the post before his? They will calculate the prize pool regularly by the number buyins, perhaps resulting in a 500k first place and a 250k 2nd place, then add 500k to the 1st to make it a million, thereby resulting in a mil for 1st and 250k for 2nd.

If that formula results in a 1st place under $1 million, Caesar's will be adding the money to 1st place to bring it up to $1 million. So if say 200 people show up, they will be adding $400K or so to 1st place, without taking it away from the rest of the money finishers. I would imagine that word of this will result in a big field if they weren't already getting one, but the possibility of a significant overlay exists.

With 340 players, first will be $1,001,932. Anything less than 340 results in some sort of overlay. There are about 100 registered already (6pm sunday), mostly from promotions and satellites.

I don't really play tournament poker, but only 100 entrants at this time is really bad, isn't it? Do most people sign up at the last minute?

A lot of people do sign up at the last minute, and I'd say 100 registered that early is pretty good for this tournament.
