i think you will understand why it's bad if you try to explain why it's superior to our other options, which are c/c or lead

my reasons:
1. lead looks like a flush draw, which leads to no action if i hit it
2. check/call involves hard decisions on turn after terrible card comes
3. check/raise looks like bluff might get crap to push or i am ahead (??) or close don't care of AA-KK

im not saying my reasons are right, just trying to show that i am at least thinking..........is the call good or not?

c/r is the last thing i would do here but if he is likely to bluff shove, hell yeah, c/r all day

leading and c/r are both fine if villain is at all aggr

i usually just lead tho

c/c if he's a huge nit
