Sideways is a great flick. Just picked it up for $5.50 at Target.

Just discovered this thread and was gonna suggest Sideways just to see you beat me by 1h or so

Great movie. From IMDB:

"Two men reaching middle age with not much to show but disappointment, embark on a week long road trip through California's wine country, just as one is about to take a trip down the aisle"

..and the guy getting married is looking for one last fling before the big day. His buddy is having moral issues with this. Sounds like a boring plot, but believe me it gets good!

Out of Sight is a freaking awesome movie.

I just saw Stranger Than Fiction last night and I thought it was awesome. Of course, ever since my son was born I've become a giant emo blubbering vagina, but whatever. It was really good.

Yes, it was. It also showed that Will Ferrell can do some actual acting. Granted, he was still funny, but it was a far cry from his usual over-the-top role. Reminded me of Jim Carrey's transition to serious actor in The Truman Show.

Cellular Ryan (Crhis Evans) is an irresponsible surfer dude who is reluctantly drawn into some heavy [censored] when a kidnapped woman(Kim Basinger) accidentally dials his cell number on a jerry-rigged phone. Great pacing, a mean-mugging Jason Statham as the main villain, and Jessica Biel as the girlfriend with the smoking bod.

This is seriously one of the worst movies I've seen. One of those situations where I just got stuck in the theater with a group of friends.

Please keep 'm coming!

I've watched hard boiled after this thread and it didn't qualify as 'best action flick ever' IMO.

A good not widely known action movie is Unleashed/Danny the Dog. The fighting scene in the narrow toilet is one of the best I've seen in a while.

The movie Once, by John Carney is unreal. If you want to get laid that is. It is a romance/musical, done on a 150k budget, filmed in Dublin, Ireland(its an Irish film). The music in it is brilliant, written, performed, and acted out by Glen Hasard. I would highly recommend taking a girl to this, and you might even enjoy it yourself.
