Wiki Software??
I am considering setting up a wiki-based site. There seems to be a plethora of packages out there, and I was wondering if any wiki-guru could help point me in the right direction. Other advice about compatible service providers etc would be welcome. I am computer literate and don't mind doing a little simple scripting, but want to avoid having to get to deep into anything.
What I am looking to do: 1) Have a small-medium site. Perhaps a few hundred pages. 2) Be situated on my own domain name(s). 3) Have the ability for document control. E.g. Only specific moderators will be able to edit some pages and/or specific fields of a document. This requirement is crucial. 4) Easy to use. 5) Decent version tracking. What might be particularly useful for me is a service-provider who can provide an installed wiki-service with support etc. I don't mind paying a reasonable monthly fee for a good service. |

Re: Wiki Software??
take a look at the new sharepoint, there is a wiki template setup and will easily integrate all MS Office apps.
I have been using mediawiki in a qa environment, truth be told, the free sharepoint is much easier and robust....Only advice if it is to be rolled out in production to more then 50+ collaborators is the HW should definitly be top notch. |

Check out MyHosting.com under application hosting. Looks like 15 bucks a month but I can't tell if that is in addition to whatever other hosting plan you have. |
