I can't wait until the new poker room opens up in the Revel. That's where we will all be playing soon.

[/ QUOTE ]

Where is the Revel? Is that the new casino where the Sands used to be?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, Revel is building a casino on the other side of Showboat. Pinnacle is the company building a casino where the Sands used to be. MGM Grand is to build a casino in the Marina distict, and another company (can not remember name right now) is interested in building a casino on the boardwalk north of Hilton.

Don't pay attention to any casino revenue numbers now. 2011 and 2012 are the years that are going to be the most important.

[/ QUOTE ]

North of the Hilton? Wouldn't that be south of the Hilton? That parcel is zoned for a casino, ever since gambling was legalized in AC. It is the former site of the old AC high School.

It could be there. I was told is was being built North of the Hilton (I consider walking toward the Hilton walking north, as the Showboat/Taj area is consider part of the "South Inlet") and that it would replace the Hilton as being the last casino on that end of the Boardwalk.

I could be wrong, I'll try to search for the article later.

This still sounds to me like a logistically poor promotion. They're going to have to verify a whole bunch of bad beat hands, slowing games and taking up floor supervisors' time, all in order to make just four payouts at the end of the month.

Separately, do these payouts go entirely to the bad beatee, or will there be a beatee/beater/table share split?

A "whole bunch of hands"? You see Aces full of Eights lose that often (when both hole cards play)?

I don't know, but in an 80+ table room, there might be, what, 10 qualifying hands in a 24 hour period? I think even that's on the high side. That's not a whole bunch.

Although, that's just my guess and could be way off...any dealers or floor, feel free to chime in with your guesses....

I'm with you, it won't happen that often. And when it does you probably have more EV from the bad beat jackpot then from the 2 or 3 hands you're going to miss playing.

I think 3 a night is a high estimate, especially in Dec.

How do they define "worst" bad beat? I suppose the worst possible bad beat would be in you get all your money in on the flop, and your opponent has to hit a 2-outer on the turn, followed by a 1-outer on the river, to beat you (running quads or running straight flush).

However, most Bad Beat Jackpots are misnamed, and should really be something like "Cold Deck Jackpot". In other words, does "worst bad beat" just mean the best losing hand?

I suspect so.
