Default The Bicycle Regulars

I will be checking in on the 23rd of April (Next Monday) and stay for around 3 weeks. I am 27 years old, male. Just wondering if there are any 2+2ers playing there often. Maybe we can meet up and discuss about poker/LA etc. Looking forward to it!

You are visiting Los Angeles from New Zealand? And you are staying at...I assume the Best Western across the street from Bike? In lovely Bell Gardens(that name do sound purty don't it?)? For three weeks?

What game/limit do you play? I'll look for a guy with a funny accent at my 5/10NL table to drop a sup bro. I'm there almost every day.

I woke up one day to a rooster crowing. I thought it was somebody's tv. Nope, I go outside, look down into one of the backyards, and there he was. btw, OP: Get a room on the other side of the motel from the Mexican nightclub.

It's a Ramada, not a Best Western. Also, I don't quite understand the snide comments, as my wife and I enjoyed our stay.

I'd certainly recommend the hotel at the Commerce, even if you plan to play at the Bike. They're only a few miles apart if you plan to rent a car. However, if the idea of driving on the wrong side of the car and the road is unappealing to you, then the Ramada by the Bike is a clean, comfortable room. Noise can be an issue sometimes depending on room location.

Nightlife around ANY of the LA casinos is nonexistant. Public transportation is a joke. You'll want a car to explore the city or you'll be spending a lot of your time just playing cards.

Regardless, if you plan to bring along any sizeable amount of cash - don't leave it in your room! It'll get stolen. The Bike has plenty of safety deposit boxes available for a $100 refundable deposit. That's the way to go. (Commerce has them too but last I checked they don't have any open boxes they are willing to part with for a short term rental.)

I plan to play on 5/10 too. How does the "No Max Buy-In" thing affect the game play? (I never played on any Uncapped games before). How's the game over there like? Any information would be highly appreciated

Thanks for so much information. One thing that draws my attention is that my frined has lost his wallet during his stay @ Ramada. It actually scares me a bit when you say that too. I think I will rather accommodate in a hotel which I don't have to worry about anything. There is someone I coach who will take me to the casino everyday. Therefore, transportation isn't a big issue. Since I was a high stake Fixed Limit player online last year, I wouldn't mind playing some of that in LA too. In that case, which one (The Bike or Commerce) has softer Fixed Limit games running? $10/$20 or $20/$40 level preferred
