Default course selection ideas

My school requires that I take certain classes to get into the Business school. I've tested out of a few of the standard requirements (Calc, English, History), and I'm registered for Econ and Political Science, so I basically have two spots for any classes that interest me.

What classes did you enjoy most at your college? I'm a freshman so some of the upper level and more specific courses won't be available to me, but I'm open to any suggestion you guys might have.

Also, has anyone taken a Philosophy class and what did you think of it?

Any Psych course will be full of chicks, anthropology and archaeology are both pretty cool to do. I have heard that philosophy classes rock from more than one person

Sociology classes are interesting and relatively easy. Check out these.

I took an intro to philosophy. It basically was an overview of the famous philosophers and their views on how the world worked. It sucked. If you are going to take a philosophy class, take one that is not an intro and one that is more about logic. I'm not a fan of philosophy though.

I had Oceans and Atmospheres, and Astronomy. They were interesting in their own way. I also had a Forensic Biology class, which was awesome.

That was probably all I had that really interested me other than required classes.

Do you have any that you are looking at that you can't decide?

Spanish is always an easy A+.

**Disclaimer**

I was born in Argentina, am fluent in Spanish, and don't look Spanish, so they let me take a beginner's class. Results may vary.

Philosophy will depend on the instructor and what, exactly, the class is about. Same goes for sociology--I loved my high school sociology class, but the one I got in college was only okay.

Psychology is a good bet if you're looking for an easy class, that's usually fairly enjoyable.

Take a specific philo class without prereqs. For example, I took one on the ethics of death penalty, abortion, pornography, etc. and it was pretty ballin'.

Intro pysch at my school is one of the hardest classes (wrt grades, not content) I've taken. It had a brutal curve, and the only way to do better than the other students in the class was study more, as it was just a bunch of memorization about which each old psychologist discovered.

I would avoid 101 intro classes if you can. Try to find a mid level class with few prereqs. At least at my school, the intro classes are normally curved the worst, with the intention of "weeding people out" of a given major (this obv doesn't always hold, and depends on the department).

Most schools probably do not have wicked curves like yours does, so your advice, while well-taken, may not be relevant to most people.
