Trapping dead money in the pot is pretty huge.

The problem is the money isn't that "dead". You're probably not a large favorite over his hand.

no and yes. I'd 3-bet hand 1 if HJ weren't in the pot.

[/ QUOTE ]

The main reason that I think 3 betting is ok is because HJ is in the pot. Trapping dead money in the pot is pretty huge.

agreed that KOing HJ would be awesome, but I think hobbs is saying ton a ton of players will call for 2 more, and then we have to play a weakish hand like 66 OOP vs 2 players in a big pot where we will often get outplayed.

the reason we should be concerned about being outplayed is:

Button is competent
and
HJ is unknown

now, unknown means usually bad, but we don't know HOW he is bad. He may be too passive or too agressive, or too loose or too tight. We have no idea. When we have JJ or AK here we don't really care that much about not having a read, but with 66, I like to have a line on my villains so I will know how to proceed.

Very true. Although there are a handful of passive players that limp fold, and two handful's of players that limp fold for two more. But they are few and far between.

"and say how far down or up you'd be willing to do the same thing."

I say no and yes. funny thing is you just switched up the hands. I'd 3bet 99 in 1 and 66 in 2.

A lot of live TAGs really have no idea that they should be iso raising with a very wide range and limp behind A7s and Q9s and stuff.

[/ QUOTE ]

why would I overlimp A7s otb vs one player? The only way I do this is if UTG limped and I think he is a strong player that might be trapping. Explain plz.

[/ QUOTE ]

Because they dont know how to play poker.

[/ QUOTE ]

oh I am sorry. I thought you meant to say that it is correct for the button to overlimp A7s. oops.
