For whatever reason, Jews and Swedes do tend to be better. Who cares why. Lacking any information to contrary, I'll assume a jewish player is solid, Scandanavian good, but a bit aggro, Asian player, especially Vietnamese very laggy. Older players, more rockish. Women (non asian) more timid, tending more often to have hand they represent. While you run into to many who turn that stereotype on its face and act accordingly, this is just how it is. One time I saw Daniel N. in tourney facing a big raise from a player of turkish descent. Negreanu was thinking about calling and chatting the guy up. When the player mentioned he was turk, and raised in Scandanavian country, Negreanu mentioned that he then had to call. So anyway, people shouldn't shouldn't be afraid of info that helps them make decisions. As long as you don't take the next step and use it to promote hate/injustice, etc.

Who cares why. [/ QUOTE ] Presumably it's because poker is a bigger part of the overall culture. You don't see many Japanese or Korean chess players, since western chess isn't played there on a large scale. Same goes to why there are few western go or shogi or xiangqi players.
