Default Help: I admit I know nothing!

Hi,

Apparently notifications are sent to mods by e-mail. Sorry! I had no idea. I guess I'll be checking that account more frequently.

BTW, where is the "notify mod" button for a thread? I know I've seen it before, but cannot for the life of me find it now.

Finally, there are two threads I've temporarily moved to the Mod forum for direction:

Free $50 WSOP coverage with deposit on "Duplicate Poker"

Would this post be allowed if I removed the poker site URL?

Or maybe it should be moved to Internet Bonuses?

WSOP Main Event Sponsors

Remove the e-mail address and lock or just delete it?

For a few days there, I was thinking this modding stuff is a breeze!

Any advice appreciated.

enter,

yes, they are emailed, not PMed, but you can change what address they go to, I think, by just changing what email acct is associated with your 2p2 account.

the notify mod button is the rightmost of the 3 buttons that are next to "Post Extras" at the bottom of the text of every post.

sorry, can't look at the threads you've moved right now =(

Thanks for the help in finding the Notify Mod button.

Any comments on how to handle the two threads I moved?

On another note, what is the etiquette of updating stickies written by other mods? We have a
Welcome to the Tournament Circuit ***READ BEFORE POSTING*** thread written by Lloyd. There are a couple things I think we could add:

- Circumventing profanity filter will result in a ban.

- WSOP results: People are paying $50 for WSOP coverage that is delayed an hour. However, when Helmuth won bracelet 11 it was leaked by other sites while the pay broadcast was still in process and subsequently posted in the thread. I think anyone posting results in advance of the broadcast should have to do so in white text.

So, is it cool to update another mods "read me" thread?

Sorry to be a bother. Hopefully I'll be up to speed and past the N00b questions soon.

I don't think any mod would object to that.

I'd suggest you add "[Updated 061507]" to title, for the benefit of readers, and mark the updated parts in the post similarly.

I never liked actually editing the sticky of another mod. Instead, unlock the sticky, post a reply to it and then relock it, similar to the OOT rules sticky.

Also, it looks like Mike is getting better at pointing out the notify mod button.

I should point out that the OOT method has the advantage of alerting the users to the change by highlighting the sticky thread as unread.
