Short stacking the 5/10NL
I was wondering if it would make sense to short stack a 5/10NL game by buying in for the min. and pushing PF wit JJ or better regardless of my position. Is this actualy profitable in the long run? I have never short stacked before but if some of u 2+2rs could lend some advice i would appreciate it.

Re: Short stacking the 5/10NL
It is very profitable. Here is the strategy: You either open shove or push behind anyone with AA, KK, or QQ. If its raised in ep you fold JJ but in late position with no raisers you can shove JJ. Fold everything else, even if you have TT in the sb and it folds to you. There is just too good a chance you'll 'get looked up' by someone with 2 overs and then you're only 50/50.
Don't play AK or AQ because you'll probably just be racing, and you can't afford to race, you need to get your money in good. Good luck and post and let us know how it goes. Thanks, M |

TY. How much of a risk of ruin do u think i have if i follow this guideline? [/ QUOTE ] Very little. Most short stackers are able to clear at least a buyin or two every hour doing this. Also, I wouldn't loosen up on the button as the previous poster suggested. You could do that and add in TT to your range, but your variance will be higher and its just not worth the risk in my opinion. (But some short stackers have found it to be +EV, but its a very marginal rate of return, like .017bb/100 if I remember correctly) If you stick with just AA, KK, and QQ you will be fine. Ask any posters, these 3 hands are by far the most profitable to play. gl, M |

Re: Short stacking the 5/10NL
Shortstacking sucks and is unethical.
