1-2: 3rd pair --> attractive river bluff option
Here's a hand I mangled last night.
Villain is practically an unknown. Seems tight at the time this hand came up. I have been very aggressive at the table, and am probably viewed as out of line on most hands. Given my image, I'd like to know what people do on the turn (if bet -- how much?), and given my line what my action should be on the river. Villain has 135, Hero covers. Villain raises to $6, folds to Hero otb who calls $6 with red 77, blinds fold. (I'll often raise in this spot, but I called because BB has a good stack, and is tight before the flop, but overplays his hands after the flop) Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Villain checks, Hero bets 10, Villain calls 10. Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Check, Check. River: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain checks, Hero?? Don't love that ace because this type of player tends to overplay all of them. Do I fire away, or give up? |

I can't imagine him folding a better hand esp since hes unknown, if he folds you probably had the best hand anyway.

You may not even be behind in the hand so I don't think you should bluff here. If he had a 9 wouldn't he bet the flop? The only hand that I can think of that beats you is 8x.
