Beckett's pitch count is fairly low (about 80). Keep in in for the 7th for sure and probably the 8th.

Since I don't think there's any chance of that heppening, there's little reason to take him out early. He'll have 5 days rest when he pitches Game 5. Beckett should stay in the game and give the bullpen the rest.

I want to minimize the chance they could become exhausted if they're used extensively in the next few games. All it takes is a couple bad starts to drain the bullpen. Beckett's at exactly 80 pitches through 6 IP. He can easily go 7 and probably 8. If the lead stays at 5+, send Gagne out to close the game.

they should just put Big Papi on 1st automatically and have the pitcher save the 6 or 7 pitches every AB.
