Default Do you call this river bet?5/10nl

Here villain is hAAppy Monkey on Full Tilt. I have him at 23/19/3 over 217 hands.

Here I decided to check/call the first two streets hoping to induce bluffs. Given how we got to the river, do we have to call this river bet?

Also any other ideas on how to play this hand on the other streets? Is there any street where I should put in a raise for value? Given that I do hold TT, the possibility of him putting in more money seems to be less since I have to discount the possibility that he's on a semi-bluff.

Comments on all streets are welcome.

At first I thought call, but I dunno what we are beating. You should prob fold the river.

I would call since he can be value betting a 9 here given your line, and your hand also looks super weak.

I dont see what worse hand than 9x is calling a river bet and I dont see how this size bet is a bluff.

Urgghh...not sure really. At first it looks like a fold, though he could be taking a stab at getting rid of ATs,T9s etc. It's probably pure value though a good percentage of the time. Calling can't be really terrible though.

i would fold as standard.

It's not insignificant that villain is utg, which narrows his range somewhat.

Assuming that the villain is not a complete donkey and is raising reasonable cards, and from his stats it seems that way. There really isn't that many combinations of a hand with a 9 that we beat. Since we're holding TT, we have to discount the fact that he can be holding T9, so that only leaves A9, and perhaps 96. Though I don't know how often he'll be raising 96 here.

For some reason I find it very unlikely that he'll be value betting as lightly as a pair of 99s. There aren't that many hands that he has beat that he could possibly hope to get paid off with.

I could be wrong here since I haven't played much 5/10nl and just moved up, but isn't a value bet here on the river with JJ+ extremely thin?

Because of that, I think that his range on the river must be extremely polarized. I think it's either a two pair/set/straight hand, or a complete bluff. Then again, I did play this super super weak, and he may be sick enough to value bet a high PP.

Yeah it's mostly a fold but sometimes the force that draws us to the call button is to hard to resist.

Well thanks for your responses. When I was playing, I decided to call just because I played this hand so weak. Initially, I really liked this hero call. However, when I was reviewing my play, I started to like it less and less. So, that 's why I posted it. I guess this one was of the few times that a call was right.

River: ($485) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
UTG bets $288, Hero calls $288

Results: $1,061 Pot ($3 Rake)
UTG showed A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (Ace Ten high) and LOST (-$523 NET)
Hero showed T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (a pair of Tens) and WON $1,058 (+$535 NET)
