I cheer for the Reds...who will likely suck again this year.

What is this doing in this forum?

this is correct. I've only been here for 3 years.

Barely even care about the Tigers. Like the Grizzlies a lot though.

I am kind of worried about a fall off for the Card's. They lose Reggie Sanders, Larry Walker, Mark Grudz, Matt Morris as well many of their top relievers. Rolen and Edmonds have been hurting and Pujols seems to play through alot of nagging injuries.

Junior Spivey has totally sucked at second base and Larry Bigbie, the starting left fielder, will begin the season on the DL. The top pitching prospect, Reyes, was hit hard and sent back down to AAA this week.

On the bright side Ponson has looked very impressive this spring. Rolen is playing this year and hopefully his shoulder will hold out. Albert and Carp are studs! Hopefully there is money to sign some vets at the trading deadline!

Thank you,

Jim Kuhn

The Cardinals relief pitchers have been awesome this spring. They cut Jeff Nelson and I don't think he allowed an earned run. I know, I know, it is only spring training but............. They have a very good starting pitching staff! Most of the starters are free agents after this year.

Thank you,

Jim Kuhn

Health is a major concern as this team isn't very deep anywhere. Should win the NL Central but that's simply because they went backwards less than anyone else. Rolen coming back healthy is effectively a huge addition.

Houston has some great young players coming up so they should again be pushing. The rest of the division is way in the rear view mirror. Maybe the Brewers run up for the show spot.

funny...I finally am ready to move on from the Illini and was about to start a thread claiming NL Central champs. (Clarkmeister is right on in his assessment of the league.)

I don't know what to expect.
Rolen back is nice.
Will Edmonds bounce back or will age kill him?
How good will Molina's back-up be? He cannot be worse than Einar Diaz. Is Molina going to continue to improve his hitting? That would be sweet.
Carpenter has looked real good in spring training. I'm pumped for him.
The drunk Aruban has looked surprisingly good as well.
The rotation is shaping up nice.
Will the bullpen gel?
I really wish the Cards could have picked up someone good for the outfield. But, Reggie and Larry didn't really play all that much last year, so hopefully all is well.
I've looked into opening day tix in the New Busch...kinda steep. I'll pick sometime in the first homestand to get down there and report back.

So, really good things
Starting rotation
Izzy
C Molina
1B Pujols
SS Eckstein
3B Rolen
CF Edmonds

Alot of question marks, but that looks like a solid core.
