how do you dump the ball in with one of those lob passes?

^ key always keeps the pass on the ground and o key doesnt lob, it makes a long pass.

Circle does a cross into the box automatically if you are past the 18 yard box.
Press it once to cross to the far post,
twice to cross to the near post,
and three times for a grounder.
If you press L1+circle it does an early cross (before you are past the 18 yard box.

You can aim short lob by pressing circle for a short amount of time, or you can use L1+ triangle, which does a high through pass. I assume this last one is the one you are after.

It has been a few months since I played this great game, but doesn't R2+O hit a higher cross? I never scored a lot of goals on crosses anyway I guess but that was WE9, who knows now. Actually about half my goals vs. the CPU were "run down the wing to the end line, beat the D by cutting back toward the middle and pass to open guy in box for score."
