Default poker in munich?

I have no idea how to ask this in German... I'll be in Munich June 17-21 and was wondering if there is poker and/or regular casinos around in Munich. I'm staying close to the Hauptbanhof if that matters at all.

As far as i know, there are no casinos (in german: "Spielbanken") in Munich.

All Spielbanken in Germany are state-run, you will not find a lot of them in Germany. And even if you do, they usually host tournaments 1 or 2 times a week. Cash tables are rare.

Take a look at

http://www.spielbanken-in-bayern.de/...en.php?navid=1

This is the website of the association of Bavarian Spielbanken. Next Spielbank to Munich is Spielbank Bad Wiessee.

My advice is to ask the Spielbank if they offer poker. I am sure they speak English.

The official bavarian casinos are closing at 3.00am. And the dealer quality is not the best. The rules are more rulings and not always up to date.
I would advise that you plan a 1.5 hour trip to Austria, where you can find card rooms and some nice ring games. The rake is smooth and you can join some 3-4 tables MTT tourneys daily.

Spielbank Bad Wiessee has Poker only Fr.-So.
Fr. Holdem 20-40 8pm-3am
Sa. 7Stud 20-40? 8pm-3am
So Holdem 20-40 6pm-12pm
There is a one hour Bus-Transfer (linie 9551) direct from the Munich main station to "Neue Spielbank in Bad Wiessee", return ticket cost 15 Euro. The Casino is only a few years old, and very nice located direct on the Tegernsee. From the tables you have a gorgeous few on the lake an the bavarian alps. There are always many regulars in the poker game and the play is a little bit loose. A negative point is: the game is always full and you must make a reservation per phone one week bevore.

The Spielbank Garmisch-Partenkirchen has Texas-Holdem from Fr.-So. 20pm-3am. There is a direct bus transfer from Munich Main station to the casino with the "Casino-Blitz" one or two times a day (1:25h); Again it's better to make a reservation in the casino, however not because the game is always full, but because there are not enough players to run a game. But I think the games in Garmisch a good! I think the rake is about 5% with 10 Euro max in both casinos.

Munich is very nice in the summer when the big beer gardens are open. Have fun!

Garmisch bietet glaube ich von Fr.-So. Holdem Spread Limit 10-30 an.
