DLM,

You make a great point about where to draw the line when moving up...

I always think of the guys playing 100/200 nl and up I mean WTF unless you are rich as hell....

You can make a SICK income just playing 25/50 with way less variance, and I just never understood the need to play so high...

There was a thread with I think it was Aba who lost 1 million dollars in one [censored] hand. ONE HAND!

I just think there is a point in which there is no need to take risk and end up on the bad side of variance when you can make over 1 million a year playing 25/50..and if 1 million a year isn't enough for you then you are just a greed SOB.

*of course if I ever come to be 1/100th as good as Aba and can beat 100/200 nl and am found playing in it I completely retract all my statements!

Some people don't move up for a few reasons...

1) They just play for hobby and poker is just a profitable hobby and they stay within thier comfort zone. Just because someone has a large bankroll or is capable of playing higher, doesn't mean they can emotionally handle the swings and the $$ being tossed around at even 1 stake above thier previous level.

2) Some people just don't feel that they are good enough to play higher then they currently do, and often times if you are consitantly bringing in the money at a certain limit its easy to become complacent and not want to move up for fear of losing.

3) Lots of players may make lots of money at a limit like NL100/NL200 however, they are uncomforatble keeping that kind of money online to play higher, and they frequently make cashouts, so while they may have made enough from poker that they are rolled to play higher, they don't becuase they don't want to keep that kinda cash online and because they don't build a bankroll per say they just print money.

Just wanted to throw out a friendly hello. I've been playing 6-max primarily and have recently switched back to my full-ring roots. I'm mostly a lurker on 2+2 but I'm going to try to start posting more. You can find me at 50NL on stars...

Thanks everyone,
Its a 06 grand prix. I've been shoping for weeks searching for a great deal (I hate to feel like im getting screwed). I finnaly found a salesmanager I could bully around. Still has two years bumper to bumber warranty left on it so I feel really good about the sale.

Hey guys, Quick ?

My English teacher tells me that our final research paper is going to be on a controversial subject in our field of study. I am majoring in business and/or investing. How can I incorporate Poker into this?

I was thinking Poker as a positive investment?
I would love to somehow incorporate it into the business side but doubt I can.
