Re: QQ Top Set Deep-Stacked vs. Keyser
bump. I'm curious why you didn't elect to c/r flop. I'm not sure if I've ever led into a preflop reraiser and I don't know if this is a good spot for it.

Re: QQ Top Set Deep-Stacked vs. Keyser
being deep, I could expect a TAG to check back a lot of hands that would call a lead here. I like the donk. As played, I fold - I think you almsot always need the board to pair.

Re: QQ Top Set Deep-Stacked vs. Keyser
How about checking the turn and possibly calling? Odds not good enough?

Re: QQ Top Set Deep-Stacked vs. Keyser
This all looks fine. I really can't see checking at any point. Could be AA or KK with a club, could just be something ghey. If he played AK this way, flatting the flop, well then he gets my money if I whiff the river.

Re: QQ Top Set Deep-Stacked vs. Keyser
As played this is a definite fold without reads, AK is a huge part of both players ranges, bluffing here is suicidal.
I don't really like the line you took but it's a pretty brutal board to be OOP on esp after the turn. I prefer check/raising the flop and then folding to a 3bet or c/fing turn if he calls. AA, KK, AQ, JJ, TT just aren't betting the turn very often esp after you c/r. |

If you c/r flop, folding to a 3 bet is insanity.

Re: QQ Top Set Deep-Stacked vs. Keyser
If he knows who you are and you know who he is and his pre-flop 3-betting range in a likely HU pot is only AA, KK I think you should fold. If he could be floating you, 4-bet.
I have no idea how Keyser plays but I'd guess he'd open his range just a little bit w/ position on you, especially if he's got a "tightish" image. That said, when he flat-calls your flop bet, what is your thinking at that stage? To me that screams strength and/or a nut-flush draw and the subsequent push is Keyser freerolling you. |

Re: QQ Top Set Deep-Stacked vs. Keyser
I had no idea this guy was a 2p2'er. If I did I would have four-bet QQ in a heartbeat. I was really hoping to bet-3bet the flop when I led. Check-calling the turn is about the most brilliant and practical thing I've heard. The way I played I should have folded the turn, but I must not have been playing my best and got married to my hand, scared money, late at night, excuses, etc.
