What got me particularly curious was that this wasn't his first acting credit. That was 'The Last of Alpha (1992) .... Young boy', and he has the first credit on it's IMDB page. Anyone know anything about it?

What are you kidding? I check the exact same way when I play live. The trick is that if you only smash the felt and scream "CHECK" like a babboon when you miss the flop, your game is exploitable, so you have to smash the felt and scream "CHECK" like a babboon when you hit the flop and are trapping also.

This movie reminds me of writing up essays or whatever in school. "It has to be 5 pages, I'll double space it and write bigger" = "It has to be 85 minutes, throw in 18 more scenes of Bob Safai checking his hole cards".
