There's only 2 spiders in GA that you need to worry about. They are the Black Widow and Brown Recluse. Both of them can cause serious damage.

I've already posted a pic of a Black Widow.

Here's a Brown Recluse. If you want to see what kind of damage it can do, google(image) it. Some of the pics are nasty. I hope you don't have a weak stomach.

What happened? You have to go to the emergency room? I didn't even know centipedes were dangerous. Just thought they were nasty. What state do you live in?

I live in Athens, it wasn't even that bad though, I was just woken up and felt something biting my foot. They really just look nasty, the bite itself wasn't that painful.
