Chip leader getting help from higher authority [/ QUOTE ] That was gross. Talk about an abuse of religion. For that, I hope "Father" strikes him down. |

I'm sure his God abandoned the truck full of relief supplies driving through a hail of bullets to a refugee camp to make sure Jerry got his set of 4s.
Or maybe she's a good multi-tasker. |

Never thought I would see God win a WSOP title.

I haven't seen anything from the WSOP or his take on religion, but as a Christian poker player, it's all about self-control.
Basically more or less if God is not overshadowed by anything such alcohol, gambling, etc. (the "supposed" vices that the Bible actually doesn't directly point out as un-Christian) and you practice discipline, it should be gravy. I heard he donated 10% of his earnings to several charities. I think this is a step towards a wayyy better poker ambassador than what Jamie Gold did last year. |

I don't get it when people go on about how 'the Lord was watching over me today'.
Surely he was watching over everyone there....or at least the religious ones. |

Re: God\'s name could be glorifed with Yang victory today
I consider myself an agnostic / borderline atheist. At first I bristled at Yang's religious ranting (begging) at the table, but it seems someone told him to tone it down a bit when he was on dinner break.
That, combined with his interview on pokernews.com in which it is clear he is a deeply religious, humble guy made me like him a lot more. He seems like a real class act that will be good for the game. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think God gives two squirts of piss about Jerry Yang winning the WSOP. Or anyone who every wins a Super Bowl or any of that junk. If he (or she, whatever) does, then I really don't get religion. Well, I don't really get religion either way. Or maybe I get why people are into it, but I think they're wrong and simple. |
