Going back to his last four games of the regular season, Ortiz over an eight-game stretch has reached base 29 times in 35 plate appearances. That means he has made only six outs in eight games.

that is stupid. Papi had the best year of his career, but nobody really noticed.

He's made two outs the entire playoffs, too.

It was his best year, but zomg 35 home runs.

I'm pretty sure Ortiz is the only player ever to hit 19 fewer homeruns and have a better offensive year than the year before.

(Checking Barry Bonds now. :P Lol, Barry Bonds 73 HR and 262 OPS+ in 2001, 46 HR and... 275 OPS+ in 2002.)
