[ QUOTE ]

Most hits in the

90s:
Mark Grace
80s:
Willie Wilson
70s:
Lou Brock
60s:
Roberto Clemente
50s:
Richie Ashburn

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think this is correct. I think in the 1970's Pete Rose had the most hits of any player in any decade.

Thank you,

Jim Kuhn

Is Ichiro leading for the Two-triple-aughts? Wait...when did Ichiro get here?

Even with missing the 2000 season Ichiro should lead the 2000's in number of hits.

The first black NFL head coach was hired in 1921.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why is this surprising?

[/ QUOTE ]
Because in 2007, you still have people making a big deal about black head coaches.

More NFL ones:

Andra Frankin is the only player to ever lead his team in rushes without having a single reception in one year

Herman Moore holds the record for most career receptions without a rush

Dan Fouts holds the record for most rushing TD in a season (2) with 0 rushing yards in a season

Mike Vick, Lee Suggs, and Chad Pennington all hold the record for highest yards per reception in one season with infinity(they have receiving yards but no receptions)

Dalton Hilliard is the only player ever to have a pass TD, rush TD, and rec TD in 3 straight seasons.

Only 4 times in the last 30 years has a RB had over 80% of his teams total carries. Edge James did it twice and Marshall Faulk did it once- all 3 of those were when they were with the Colts. And the other person to have done it? The great James Wilder.

The 1995 Falcons were one of only 4 teams to ever have 3 1000 yard receivers.

Tony Gonzales had more catches by age 30 than any other player(including WRs) in NFL history.

john brockington in 1971-1973 became the first player to ever rush for 1000 yards in his first 3 seasons

1978 New England Patriots are the only team to ever first team to ever first their coach midseason and still make the playoffs. They actually had 3 coaches that year, and one of them was fired a few minutes before the 16th game of the season.

The Aflac trivia question when the Cubs played Seattle was: What 5 players have the most hits in the 2000s? IIRC it went-Ichiro, Jeter, Helton, Tejada, Vlad

So far it is Ichiro even though he missed the whole 2000 season. Barring injury Jeter will not catch him.

[ QUOTE ]
I read this one a few years back, not sure if it's still true.

There is no player in any pro sports hall of fame who played with a playing weight above 300 pounds (came up during discussing Shaq and how he might be the first)

[/ QUOTE ]

Bruce Matthews played at 305. So it was true untill a week ago.

Wille Roaf, Larry Allen & Warren Sapp could also be HOFers before Shaq.
