Default Chipotle(and other fast food)

Well, we all know fast food is terrible for you. Chipotle seems healthier than McDonalds or Wendy's, but it's still loaded with calories and it's not exactly great for you. I try to stay away from eating out, and if I have to eat out, I try to go to Subway, but if I'm with my friends or my girlfriend I don't have much of a choice sometimes. So what I'm wondering is, if I HAVE to eat at Chipotle, is just getting a few scoops of chicken the healthiest option(IE, just chicken in a bowl, nothing else)? Is this actually good for me, or just not as bad as a burrito? I know I could just get a burrito without all the cheese and sour cream and stuff, but that hardly seems worth it.

What are some healthy(or healthier) alternatives to the usual McDonalds crap, if I have to eat there?

Thanks.

doesnt chipotle have a burrito bowl? basically a taco salad w/ lettuce, beans, guac, meat, salsa, peppers...that doesn't seem so bad for you...

get a fiesta burrito with no cheese. Get every single vegetable they have(which is alot) then put salsa on it.

If I have to eat there that is what I get.
and if you have to get beans , get black beans they are better.

dh, like others have said, try to get meat + vegetables, and remember you can always order stuff that's not listed on the menu.

Post workout, even a full burrito isn't bad (protein+carbs+calories). Of course, it isn't optimal.

Get the chicken salad with guacamole (healthy fats).

Chicken + blacks beans + red tomatillo salsa + guacamole + lettuce =

552 cals, 28g (4.5 saturated) Fat, 41g Protein, 34g Carbs.

http://www.chipotlefan.com/index.php?id=chipotle_calc

Going w/ a burrito shell ups it to
882 kcal, 37g (6.5 sat) fat, 50g Protein, 88 Carbs. Those shells are the devil.

Don't eat the tortilla - high GI carbs. Chicken > pork > beef, and like everyone said load it up with veggies and hold the cheese.

Hi,

At Wendy's you can get a grilled chicken sandwich without honey mustard sauce (chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, and a bun) and a plain baked potato. Beat that.

I think people who are trying to gain weight and are intensely exercising need to eat high GI carbs. You want the insulin spike to drive protein into recovering muscle.

the tortilla is ~300 cals, skip that and most of the other basics aren't horrendous.
