Default 5CD: when your (single pair) raise-open gets 3bet....

I hate that situation, when i open-raise, and get reraised.

On one hand, i'm clearly behind....on the other hand, me making (big) trips is often a winner.

If pot lays ~6.5-1 or so, is it wrong to fold here?

How much difference if the 3bettor is in the blinds? I feel if i act after him post-, if i make trips, its easier to get 2BBs on river...then again, if he 3bet me and acts after me, i can checkraise too.

I'd ballpark his holding (really roughly) like:
-10% of time, hes pat, im super thin
-50% he has trips, usually lower than my pair, so me tripping up is often good
-35% he has 2 pairs. I now have alot more outs.
-5% he has dogshit/flushdraw

I guess i could do some math here...im lazy though. Generally, what do you do here?

*yes yes, player notes...lets say hes a new guy, and i treat him like generic opponent

I hardly ever fold to a raise at low limits. Unless I am first in with lets say a pair of K's or A's and it is 2 bets back to me then I will sometimes fold. But in general, I will call most single reraises with a big pair. Just me though. In all honesty, I don't get too mathematical about this situation but more player dependant and their past actions(if any). A new player I give a bit more respect to though until I have seen a few hands shown down.

Call and draw Cause' of implied odds and the number of times you can simple outplay them. And plus you'll often get like 5 to 1 odds to draw to Jacks up or higher. I fold to a super tighty in this situation (I mean who only reraises with monster), but as you said you get paid off if you hit your hand. Sometimes if they're weak you can represent trips anyway. You're only paying one more bet to try to outrdraw someone and frustrate them a lot.

You're also often against a come draw bluff.

Sometimes the BB thinks you're stealing with 1010 when he has AA.

I've always called here and it suits me well.
