Default OnGame rake changed?

Looks like the rake structure is back to industry standard. So much for the 0.1BB/0.4BB/1.0 BB structure, its now back to 5% (nickels from dollars, quarters from $5s, dollars from $20s). Not sure if this is good or not.

It's very good for limit players as their current rake is extremely high.

They are also changing the way how player points accumulate, which is bad because they are going to a contributed model. This means that all solid players will be gettting less points.

this should be good for shorthanded players though...previously you would pay ~1/5th of the rake for the same points as a fullring player paying ~1/10th of the rake.

*and thx for the linky! i go read it now.

Yes it does:
"All players making a contribution to the pot will be eligible to receive player points. "

This is very bad for a solid player. Earned points will drop in 5max, and they will drop a LOT in full tables.

However, the rake change may compensate this somewhat.

wait, this is preposterous!
i would need a 70% VP$IP to get the same points as before.

The Player Points earned by playing ring games are changing for the better. After the Maintenance you will receive more Player Points than before. That means you can buy and release bonuses more quickly.

All players making a contribution to the pot will be eligible to receive player points.

Hi Big Limpin,

To be completely honest, we (the Ombudsman) have not fully immersed ourselves in the implications of the new rake structure introduced across all of our contracted operators.

Neither do we control how our contracted operators choose to set-up their retention programs or how they choose to communicate it to their players.

So we will have to kindly ask you to bring up the aforementioned bolded question with whichever of our contracted operators making that claim.

For now,

The Ombudsman
