Default Friday Night Caesar\'s AC TR ( added knife fight bonus )

So I was playing in a incredibly juicy 2/5 NL game Friday night in AC. Turned 300 buy in into 1800 yay! But the fun really began when I was taking a break. After walking around for about 5 minutes I returned to my seat. Turns out there was an All in on the flop for about a 700 dollar pot. Flop was 9s 8s and 4r. Turn and river are both low blanks, Flush misses I believe. Seat 4 turns over 10 10 for an overpair to the board. Seat 7 turns over A A for the winning hand about 2 or 3 seconds later. Seat 4 is disgusted. Incorrectly accuses seat 7 of slowrolling. Is being a general baby about it and curses at seat 7 for being a slowroller. Seat 7 curses back. Seat 4 throws a red chip as fast as he can and hits Seat 7. Seat 7 jumps up and moves towards Seat 4. I was standing behind my seat ( i was seat 6 ) I say hey hey calm down. About a second later dealer says hes got a knife. I do my best Forest Gump and move about 30 feet away to a dead table. Seat 4 is a big ex-boxer as it turns out, but is unarmed. So he takes off his belt and prepares to use it as a whip. They never do come in direct contact, though it was very close. Seat 4's pants almost fell down since he took off his belt too. Floor comes over and keeps them at bay as best as possible. Caesars security takes about 3-5 minutes and escorts both of them out of the poker room. We convince floor to give us a half hour of free rake.

Turns out Seat 4 is also a dealer at Borgata and should have really known better than to start this. Sucks Seat 7 had to leave because he was terrible. Seat 1 and Seat 2 quickly grabbed all their chips and ran away too. I had to leave my 1800 chips on the table obviously. It was all there when I got back.

Caesar's floor did a pretty good job of handling the situation.

Bolded part is most important. Good job turning near violence into ev+ opportunity.

So what you're saying is, there's now a much-coveted job opening at the Borgata.

Any hints on who this Borgata dealer is?

Death or serious injury by random, spillover violence - Let's split $60 among the 10 and call it even.

Did it take security 3-5 minutes just to get there, or to finally haul them away? I wouldn't consider a 3-5 minute span between potential life-threatening violence, and security's arrival to be acceptable, but I've never seen this situation arise, so maybe that's standard.

Maybe they waited and hoped the problem would resolve itself. I've been to Caesars and felt threatened once, I can attest that their security is top notch at seamlessly blending in with the crowd.

I've seen tense situations where security arrives quickly, but not in large numbers. Two guys start to get into it, floor tells someone to call security while he runs and gets between the players. 20 seconds later I see one security dude hanging back 15 yards. 20 seconds later a 2nd. 30 seconds later two more, and at that point they step closer while still allowing the floor person to try to deal with it. That makes perfect sense...the presence of uniformed security in a very tense situation can make things worse if there aren't enough of them to apply overwhelming force if the sight of them makes someone snap.

So if there were security folks watching closely from a distance for 3 minutes while the floor worked on calming folks down, that's ok long as it appeared the floor was succeeding. If it really took 5 minutes for anybody to show up, that's pretty poor.
