I have no idea if my range for hero is right, but I believe the ev changes drastically when you go from QQ to JJ, or from JJ to TT. Which is why I'm cautious.

i call AQ/99

might be a leak though, i agree with '99+/AQs+' as a range for villains but it should include a substantial amount of air too imho

Pokerstove:
villain {99+,AQs+,AQo+}

hero:
QQ wins 58%
JJ wins 50%
AK wins 50%
TT wins 44%
99 wins 37%

So, surprise, AK and JJ are equivalent against that range and both +ev because of the dead money.

Now do we really want to add worse hands to villain's range? I would argue that villains that push more hands are balanced by villains that push fewer hands...

Change my answer to AK, JJ+, and TT is 0ev because of the dead money

I think villain's range here is something like: 77-QQ, QJs, JTs,T9s, about 90% of the time. KK+, AQ+ is so much more likely to be played as a standard 3 bet. JJ+, AKo is a pretty nitty calling range, but since this an event which happens infrequently, the "long term" is going to take a long time to arrive. In cases like this, I don't want to mix it up without better reads, so I think calling nitty is good.

against an unknown i think this range is far too tight. villain is unlikely to be that good because he is shortstacking, but not properly (ie. 20BB). i think there are alot more hands you can add to that list.

AQ, 88 for sure. AJ-AT, 77, KQ too maybe
