Default recommendations for beer/booze/liquor

note: i originally posted this in OOT, but the thread was immediately locked because 1) they are nazis and 2) i didnt make my intent clear. so the reason im not googling this is because i want to know the opinions of solely the 2+2 community on this topic. i think this post might generate some original and interesting insight as i have not seen this type of thread before.

from my time and experience on this forum, it seems like 2+2 is notorious for being very picky when it comes to their beer.

so im asking everyone to throw their two cents in and give me any recommendations for what type of beer/liquor to buy and what type to stay away from. if possible post price range. make sure whatever you recommend is readily accessible and available in any standard liquor store.

and to make it a little more interesting, post any combinations/recipes that you might know.

Have you read Wookies beer thread yet? It is long but very worth it.

Link to the best source of beer info on 2+2. Make sure you check out the index.

The problem with a thread like this is that I can list of 50 beers I like, 50 cocktails, and 50 liquors I like striaght, but that doesn't mean anything. We have no idea how to give you a good recommendation because we have no idea what you like, what you haven't tried, where you live (regional availability), etc. If you're looking to just peruse a massive list, then most people here would rather you used the search function and browsed old threads rather than retyping it all.

A good thread on liquors

There was a pretty good thread in here on cocktails a little while back, but I don't have the link handy. A search should bring that up.

Edit: There's more in the sticky that contains the best threads in the Lounge.
