I watched that episode with my friend's 12-year old daughter, who is a big fan, and she got it instantly. It may help to be young on that one, it's so off the wall. Which is why I love it.

I believe it's the one where bender gets lost in space and the little universe grows on him. Fry goes to some woman (forget) who says some quote like "Have you heard of the sacred order of the Monks of XXXXXX" (who are actively searching the universe for God).
Fry's response "I've not heard of them". (Like - at least that's somehing, right?)

Being a Futurama addict for the past couple of years has made me ashamed that I used to think so highly of Family Guy and the like.
