BB just 3bet us when we raised with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 hands ago. We folded preflop. We raised hand before that and took down pot on c-bet after we flopped FD (this was against a different player but it may be relevant to our image??).

Folded to us on BN and we make it $14 with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. BB 3bets to $40. We make loose [bad] call.

($82) Flop comes T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

BB checks, we check.

($82) Turn is 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. BB bets $80, we shove for $320....

Opinions everywhere please.

this is good if you want to impress the guy who's watching you by shoving ace high into a 3-bet pot and winning

however it's not good if you want to make money

He didn't know I was watching. I was just looking to see if he was playing. I saw the 2 hands right before this, thus the small read/image....

seems fine, consider minraising turn instead and calling the shove.

Agreed 100%. Usually when he checks the flop to you it's not with the intention of folding. He probably has a pretty good hand here, but AQ/AK with a club probably makes up a fair portion of his range so if you can make him fold the Ac on the turn than kudos to you.

I told him, if I were going to try and take this pot, I would bet the flop.

Should we be trying to take this pot ever though?

as you noted preflop is inexcusably bad, and once he checks if I feel like I want to try and steal here its probably less spewy to lead the flop after his check then take the line that he did.

He isnt folding 89 or 67, neither am I since hero can't really have anything made except 78 here. Its often just a naked high club(AJ KQ AQ), this time its a naked low club.

Given that we prob have 0 equity if called, I dont like shoving in a spot where villian needs to fold 66 percent of the time, with an undefined range, for us to breakeven.
