Am i SOL for B&M play?

I live in NC. Is there any B&M poker room even remotely close by, or am I in basically the worst location in the US?

Worst location in the US, and not just because of poker.

Just kidding. Your closest B&M cardrooms are in Atlantic City, southern Indiana, Tunica, and Florida (sort of). So, yes, very bad poker alignment.

But yeah, the Atlantic Southeast is about the worst, and you're in the middle of the sour spot. Miami might be worse if you don't count Florida casinos (but aren't they spreading small-stakes NLHE now?).

Would be interesting to run a map program and find the town farthest from legit poker cardrooms. Sort of the way the Census finds the center of population.

There was a legal casino in the West Bank, but I dunno if it had poker or if the Israelis blew it up. Otherwise, the closest I can think of is Vienna.

Worst is still probably hawaii or some small island chain in South Pacific.

FWIW, before he won the ME, Greg raymer lived in CT, a ston'e throw from Foxwoods, where he played as often as his work schedule permitted.

Once he won the ME, he moved to NC. Seems no State income tax > proximity to B&M play. [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]
