20/40 CAZ versus 2+2er who doesn\'t know me
This hand occured within an hour of my arrival at the table. It was the only 20/40 going at this time (Sunday evening) which was especailly odd for those who know Casino AZ because there were 3 40/80 games going along with a 40/80 mix, but only one 20/40 game.
The villain in this hand is a poster on this very forum, and although we have played very little together in the 20/40 game, he has been 'crushing' it in the last two months. So while I don't have the best of reads on his play, he seems solid enough, and has been mostly folding since I arrived at the table. But he does have over 3 racks on the table, so unless he has been here all night, he is clearly up for the session. And since I know he posts here, he must have a read on me. And oh what a read he has. Again, he doesn't know I post here, but in the hour I have been at the table, I have either raised or threebet approximately 8 out of 20 hands preflop so far. He has commented that I have been playing very aggressive preflop, and commented on my lack of showdowns (I have folded most of these hands on the flop, but they have all been 66+, KQ+, A9+). Whew, finally on to the hand. Villain (2+2er) raised UTG in a currently 7 handed game (2 walkers). Folded around to me (very odd) on the button, and I threebet AKo. Blinds fold, and as the villain calls, he comments about "Flop me quads dealer"). The flop comes AT5, he checks, I bet, he check raises, and I call. At this point, given my read of him, I am deathly scared of TT, but also know that any ace should be worthy of a check raise by him. Turn comes a blank, and he bets, and I call. River comes an A, and he bets again. The board is now AT5xA. He bets and I...... |

Re: 20/40 CAZ versus 2+2er who doesn\'t know me
fold? i don't get it. if you didn't think your hand was strong enough to 3-bet the flop or raise the turn the river doesn't change anything. personally i think you're giving him too much credit and should have put in more action somewhere

Why would he check-raise the flop with a set of tens? I mean, he might, but more likely he wouldn't. I'd raise on the river.

Re: 20/40 CAZ versus 2+2er who doesn\'t know me
The strongest possible hands in his range are ATs, ATo, TT and maybe (as it's 7-handed) 55.
Given that he's seen you fold so much post-flop, it seems unlikely that he'd play any of those hands fast on the flop. It would be a nice play though if he believed you would think that he thought you were weak-tight post-flop and therefore believe he was trying to move you off a hand, when in fact he was fast-playing a big hand (seems v. unlikely). It is a bit worrisome that he is still firing on the river, though I still probably find a raise. I probably would have raised the turn instead though. |

As played...flat call
3-bet flop or flat call and raise turn. "Deathly afraid of TT" = monsters under the bed. It's limit. Could easily be AQs there, even as weak as AT (yes, even UTG). |

3-bet flop or flat call and raise turn. [/ QUOTE ] This looks familiar. |

any chance you're the that_pope that used to play on chess.net? [/ QUOTE ] There is a 100% chance of that, and one night while drunk, instead of losing money online, I paid $30 and signed back up, about a month ago. There are all of 20 people on at a time, what a waste of money...do I know you? |
