pretty straight forward hand, just wondering if i could/should have played it any differntly...

Cryptologic - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

Hero (SB): $58.70
BB: $52.85
UTG: $86.90
MP: $63.14
CO: $50.00
BTN: $170.90

Reads: villains 16/9/2.5 (300) hes on 3 tables of mine. seems hes fairly passive post flop, ive seen him c/c 3 streets w/ topset in a 3bpot, and check down jj on a khigh flop oop

Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG calls $0.50, 2 folds, BTN calls $0.50, Hero raises to $3.00, BB calls $2.50, UTG calls $2.50, BTN folds

Flop: ($9.50) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players)
Hero bets $7.00, BB calls $7.00, UTG folds

Turn: ($23.50) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, BB checks

River: ($23.50) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $15.00, BB raises to $40.00, Hero folds
Uncalled bet of $25.00 returned to BB

Pot Size: $53.50 ($2.65 Rake)

after he calls my cbet i'd imagine he has a Q or a set, i checked the turn planning on folding to a bet.

i bet the river hoping to get a call from JQ/KQ, i'd imagine he'd prolly check those down if checked to.

standard? thanks!

At 16/9 his call out of the BB is almost always a pocket pair. When he calls behind on the flop you can't be completely sure it's a set, but it's pretty likely. On the turn he's just checking his boat/quads because if he's not raising the flop he's not betting the turn. If he doesn't have 77 or 33, he surely had 55, and you made a good fold. I don't like the value bet because QJ/KQ rarely calls out of the BB here at 16/9 but it's possible they would play it that passively if they did.

good logic, i probably c/c river, and say damn i knew he had trips, and if not we get a valuable read that hes calling bb with qj-- infinite would you c/c? or c/f to more than a 2/3s pot sized bet?

bet the turn

why bet the turn? hes not drawing, if im ahead he has 3 outs, i think hes more likely to calla river bet with QK etc than a turn bet which he might fold to.

maybe i should just check river, but i didnt think he would bet with a Q, only with his boats.. i didnt wanna c/f maybe thats best though
