Default top pair against a deep donk

my notes on villain:

donk.
CRs with nothing on ragged boards often.
calls bets down light.
calls 3 barrels with mid pair OOP.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $2/$4 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $893.90
BB: $805.80
Hero (UTG): $732.50
CO: $896.85
BTN: $394.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt K J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 Players)
Hero raises to $14.00, CO calls $14.00, 2 folds, BB calls $10.00

Flop: ($44) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K (3 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $32.00, CO calls $32.00, BB folds

Turn: ($108) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $85.00, CO raises to $285.00, Hero

i cant imagine my turn bet is arguable here, but what about after he raises? given the read do you fold, call or shove?

hmm first off i don't like a call because he'll definitely put you to the test for your stack on the river and you might be royally screwed when that card falls unless it's something thing like the As.

i think i make a nitty fold, let him take this, and go for blood on the next stack fight.

re: your PFR UTG. i'd check results to see how KJo from UTG does for you. KJs is std but off, eh, not loving it. this is the absolute lowest of my range PF UTG and it is very much dependent on if i'm having a nitty or laggy session. if nitty, it's just about okay. if anything laggier, i'd chuck that junk.

the reason you're posting is that the villain put you to a difficult decision with a marginal, far from solid hand. i think if you dumped KJo from your UTG range, it'll be one less difficult OOP decision you'll need to make.

Fold. Sounds to me like would make some hero calls with a pair and not turn that hand into a semi-bluff, so you can discount a pair + flush draw a lot I think.

I just feel that KJo plays horribly UTG. You rarely know where you stand and if you face some heat, it's very difficult to make a viable argument for continuing with the hand. If you are ahead, it's rarely by much and you're often thinking, "ugh, gimme a cheap showdown villain". I feel the no. of tough decisions you have with KJo far outweigh the easy decisions. I think it's a tiny leak to mandatory-play this hand. It's a situational hand.

Having said that, on the rare occasion you hit big with KJ, it can pay off but it's never enough for me. Or of course unless you have mad post-flop skillz i.e. the likes of the cts' and durrrr's of the world, I think it's not worth going to battle over too often. I'm not saying never play KJo from UTG. The contrary. However, I think there are only a few situations where it's viable to play it UTG.

This game has enough tough decisions and I think plugging the KJo UTG decision is an easy one to fix. Call me nitty!

Yeah really, if it's 6 handed then most players would be better off chucking KJ away UTG on most "normal" tables.

i usually open-raise KJ utg+1 at a 6-handed table so this is thin but fine imo. i'd fold KT though.

as for the turn, i'd fold. there is an awful lot of money left and you've got bad reverse implied problems. if you shove turn, do you really think he's calling with a lot of worse Kx hands? he'd have to be bluffing a ton of the time to make a push good here.
