Default Hawaiian Gardens $8-16 LHE is the new $9-18.

Well with Commerce's recent rake increase and the itch to play something other than holdem, I went to HG last weekend to partake of the $6-12 Omaha/8. Things went quite well, the players were awful, and I cashed out a decent win. So I thought I'd try it again last night(Friday). Put my name on the $6-12 O/8 board and seeing as it was about 12 names long and there were no empty tables anywhere, I also put myself down for the $8-16 LHE as well. I was called into that game quickly.

First I will note that the drop appears to still be $4+1, with no further amount taken out of the pot. At Omaha, it looks like its $3+1 . I may be mistaken, but thats what it looked like to me.

Anyway, I had been playing $15-30 LHE at HG the past few months and watching the $8-16 as well. THe $8-16 seemed to be rife with bad players with huge stacks of chips. Now I know why. I sat down and the players were just awful. For a while, my game literally transformed into a $3-6 lagtard fest with 7-8 players taking flops for 2-4 sb's, all calling the flop for 3 more, and three players calling a river bet. Most awesome thing I have seen in casino in quite a while. And from looking around at other tables, it was the same at each one.

BTW, the $6-12 O/8 was outstanding. It has a must move and a main game. This one guy kinda plays but also runs the must move and he does an amazing job. He even moves chips for players that are eating in an effort to move players as quickly as possible and keep both games full. I am guessing he is a prop who is employed to keep the $6-12 Omaha going, and probably to start it up each day. Anyway, last weekend there was one player better than me in the game, and he was better than me by a bunch. Last night, I was the best player in the game by far, and I'm not exactly such a gread Omaha/8 player. But any decent player could a destroyed the line up in that game. Frankly, I could have had a monster night...maybe a $1000 win...if a couple of huge draws(10+ outs to the scoop, 12 more for the nut low) had got there.
